Come Celebrate Lynda on March 20th, 2026!
I'm inviting you to join us at Zeitgeist in Durham for the opening of a solo art show by one of the most extraordinary people I have ever had the privilege of knowing: Lynda Simmons.
For the past two years, my collaborator TJ Volgare and I have been following Lynda with a camera, slowly and carefully building a documentary about her life, her art, and her story. If you don't know that story yet,you can learn more here.
When I look at Lynda, I see a hero. She has secrets and wisdom that I think everyone should hear and look at. Whether she is doing something profound or something mundane, Lynda’s life is an example to me, an inspiration. She has suffered more than most. I believe you will learn something from getting to know Lynda a bit on March 20th.
For the first time ever, On March 20th Lynda will be showing her work publicly. Her paintings will cover the walls of Zeitgeist. And she will be in the room! And maybe say a few words. I'll be filming, and TJ will be performing with his band, St. Anthony and the Mystery Train,.
Here's what the night looks like:
Doors open — 6pm
Meet and greet with Lynda — 7pm
Live performance from St. Anthony and the Mystery Train — 8pm
Open to everyone. Bring friends. Wear whatever you want! Cash bar.
